Financial Aid

  • One of the most daunting parts of the college process is figuring out how to pay
for everything (classes, books, parking permit, etc). Financial Aid is the umbrella
term encompassing all financial assistance from federal or private institutions. To
have the best chance of qualifying for federal scholarships/grants/loans for the
2018-2019 school year, make sure you have filled out and submitted your
FAFSA or Dream Act application by March 2, 2018.
    Types of Financial Aid:
    1. Scholarships
    2. Grants
    3. Loans
    4. Work Study

Changes to the FAFSA Process for 2017-2018:

*Submit a FAFSA earlier-Students can submit as early as October 1

*Use Earlier Income and Tax Information-Beginning with the 17/18 FAFSA, students will report tax information from an earlier tax year.

For example, on the 17/18 FAFSA, families should report 2015 tax information and for the 18/19 FAFSA, they should use their 2016 tax information
