• CAMPUS SAFETY & CLEANING PROTOCOLS

     

    STUDENT HEALTH REMINDERS:  

    THE HEALTH AND WELLNESS OF OUR STUDENTS AND STAFF ARE OUR TOP PRIORITIES.  THE FOLLOWING HEALTH, AND SANITIZING STEPS ARE OCCURING THROUGHOUT THE DAY:

    Prior to coming to school, families are asked to conduct a health screening to self-evaluate for COVID-19 symptoms, including a temperature check at home.

    • Anyone with a fever of 100.0 or higher should not go to school.
    • Individuals with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms, ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-10 days after exposure to the virus.
    • Symptoms that would necessitate you or your child to stay home include:
      • Fever or Chills; Cough; Shortness of Breath or Difficulty Breathing; Fatigue; Muscle or Body Aches; Headache; New Loss of Taste or Smell; Sore Throat; Congestion or Runny Nose; Nausea or Vomiting; Diarrhea; Repeated Shaking or Tremors
      • Absences as a result of COVID-19 illness symptoms will be excused
    • Face Coverings approved by the CDC and FCDPH are required for students and staff when indoors.

    CAMPUS SAFETY & CLEANING PROTOCOLS

    • Kerman Unified will provide a safe, learning environment continuing with the extensive maintenance and cleaning practices already in place following the guidance in accordance with the California Department of Public Health and the Fresno County Department of Public Health.
    • What does a typical school day cleaning schedule look like?
      • Before School - Disinfecting stations and supplies for classroom cleaning use will be stocked for the day.
      • During the School Day - Sites will disinfect all high touch campus surfaces (door handles, countertops, etc.) bathrooms and offices as often as possible.
      • After Lunch - Sites will disinfect Multipurpose Rooms and bathrooms
      • After School - Sites will deep disinfection of all classrooms, bathrooms, and offices/buildings.  All buildings and surfaces will be fogged daily.
    • What can be done by teachers and students in class?
      • Disinfect frequently touched hard surfaces (tables, desks, chairs, door handles, light switches, etc) as often as you would like.
    • Site COVID-19 Response Teams
      • Should a student/staff member get sick in a classroom and/or test positive for COVID-19 while in class, the Site will send a custodian to thoroughly disinfect the classroom including fogging just as they would before or after school.
