As a result of receiving best instructional practices, all Kerman Unified School District students will demonstrate character, academic improvement, and responsibility for themselves and their community. #1 - English Learner Progress
Kerman Unified will increase the number of K-12 students who qualify for reclassification.

Ensure all EL Students (including ELs with disabilities) are successfully progressing toward fluency

Decrease the number of at-risk ELs by the end of 6th grade

Decrease the number of 7-12 EL students who are failing classes

California Assessment for Student Performance and Progress
California Testing in 2015
The assessments that comprise the 2015 CAASPP administration are a mix of online and paper-pencil assessments. The online component contains the Smarter Balanced English language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics tests. The paper-pencil component includes CST/CMA/CAPA science tests and the optional STS for RLA.

In California, all students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 will participate in the 2015 Smarter Balanced tests, which include both ELA and mathematics content areas. These tests are administered online.

Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium
The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (Smarter Balanced) is a state-led consortium working to develop next-generation assessments that accurately measure student progress toward college- and career-readiness. Smarter Balanced is one of two multistate consortia awarded funding from the U.S. Department of Education in 2010 to develop an assessment system aligned to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) by the 2014-15 school year.
