Credit Recovery & Summer School Options

At KHS, we recognize that students may need additional opportunities to earn credits if they do not complete certain courses during the regular school year. When a student is considered credit deficient, meaning they have not yet met the expected credit total for their grade level, we offer several options to support their continued academic progress.

Credit recovery & summer school options at KHS include:

  • After-School Credit Recovery: Available to 11th & 12th grade students who are credit deficient or need to fulfill A-G college admission requirements, this program allows students to recover credits through Edgenuity, an online learning platform that supports self-paced coursework. Each student is assigned a teacher who monitors their progress, provides support, and ensures academic integrity. To complete the program, students are also required to check in with their assigned teacher to take assessments and demonstrate mastery of course content.

  • Augmented Studies: Available to students who are credit deficient and provides an opportunity to recover credits during the regular school day. Students complete coursework through Edgenuity, a self-paced online learning platform, while receiving guidance and support from an assigned teacher. The teacher monitors progress, offers academic assistance, and ensures students meet course expectations with integrity. Please note: Space in this program is limited and prioritized for students with the greatest need to recover credits.

  • Summer School: Available to current 9th–12th grade students who are credit deficient and need to recover credits to stay on track for graduation. Students are required to attend classes in person. Note: Enrollment is limited and prioritized based on academic need.

These programs are designed to help students stay on track for graduation. For any questions, please contact your assigned Learning Director.
