Executive Cabinet Directory

Kerman Unified School District’s executive cabinet consists of a group of senior leaders responsible for overseeing the district's operations, setting strategic direction, and ensuring that educational goals are met. This team is headed by the Superintendent, who serves as the chief executive officer, and includes other key positions such as the Assistant Superintendent, Chief Financial Officer, Assistant Superintendent, Human Resources, and Assistant Superintendent, Educational Services. Each cabinet member oversees specific areas of district management, from curriculum development and student services to budgeting and policy compliance. Working collaboratively, the executive cabinet makes decisions on district-wide initiatives, addresses challenges, and supports the Superintendent in driving the district’s mission to provide high-quality education to all students.

Degrees and Certifications: Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies at Sacramento State University and her Master of Education, Administrative Services Credential, and Doctorate in Education and Organizational Leadership at Brandman University.

Sandeep Jaspal is the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for Kerman Unified School District. Sandeep has 24 years of experience in education. Sandeep's educational experience in Kerman includes roles as a classroom teacher, literacy coach, assistant principal, principal, and director of pupil personnel services. Sandeep obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies at Sacramento State University and her Master of Education, Administrative Services Credential, and Doctorate in Education and Organizational Leadership at Brandman University.

Sandeep is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and services. Sandeep ensures that educational initiatives align with state standards, district goals, and the diverse needs of students. Sandeep works closely with principals, teachers, and other administrators to foster a collaborative learning environment, implement data-driven decision-making, and ensure the effective use of resources. 

Sandeep is married to a graduate of Kerman High School and they have a 16-year-old son. Sandeep is grateful to serve in this new role and is looking forward to working collaboratively with all educational partners to support our students as they learn and grow academically and socially.

Gabe Melgoza is the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel for Kerman Unified School District.  Gabe has 23 years of experience in education. Gabe spent the first five (5) years of his career as an elementary school teacher for Mendota Unified School District, where he taught 2nd Grade. In 2006, Gabe joined the Kerman Unified School District as a first-grade teacher at Kerman-Floyd Elementary.  The following year he joined the fourth-grade team, where he taught for two years before transitioning to administration.

As an administrator, Gabe has been Assistant Principal of Kerman Middle School, Learning Director of Kerman High School, Assistant Principal of Liberty Elementary, Assistant Principal of Goldenrod Elementary, and Principal of Kerman-Floyd Elementary before moving to his current Assistant Superintendent of Personnel position. Gabe obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies at Fresno State University, his Master of Science in Educational and Instructional Technology from National University and Administrative Credentials at Fresno Pacific University.

Gabe is a proud graduate of Kerman High School.  He has three children, ages 20, 18, and 15.  You will find him enjoying many extra-curricular student activities and athletic events his children participate in. He currently has two college students, attending San Diego State University and Fresno City College.


Kraig Magnussen

Kraig Magnussen is the Assistant Superintendent Chief Business Official for Kerman Unified School District. Kraig has 24 years of experience in education, having spent three (3) years in Sylvan Union School District, nine (9) years in Merced City School District and the past twelve (12) years in Kerman Unified School District in his current position. Kraig spent sixteen (16) years working for a Fortune 500 Company before working in a school setting.  Kraig currently sits on the ACSA State Chief Business Official’s Committee.

Kraig is a key administrative leader within our district, responsible for overseeing and managing the district’s financial operations and business services which involves developing and implementing the district's budget, ensuring financial stability, and aligning resources to support educational goals. Kraig is also responsible for managing payroll, purchasing, accounting, facilities planning, and risk management. 

Kraig is married and has two daughters. Kraig is grateful to serve in this role and looks forward to navigating complex challenges in the education sector.
